Free and affordable ways to celebrate pride month in the South West

It’s Pride Month- a time to celebrate identity, diversity, love, and equality across our communities. If you're based in the South West, here’s a round-up of free and low-cost Pride parades, festivals and events happening near you.  

Pride Parades & Festivals 

Bristol Pride 28 June – 13 July Various locations 
One of the UK’s biggest Pride celebrations, Bristol Pride spans over two weeks with events ranging from drag shows and dog shows to theatre, comedy, and live music — all building up to Pride Day on 12 July. 
The parade and main festival are free, though a £9 wristband gives you extra perks like free bus travel on the day, fast-track entry, and discounts on food and drinks. 

There’s also a dedicated family area, alongside live music, food stalls and community spaces, making it a welcoming atmosphere for all ages. For more information and a full list of events you can visit the Bristol pride events page. 

Pride in the Forest (Gloucestershire) 20 July – Cinderford 
A community-led, free Pride event set in the Forest of Dean. Expect live performances, market stalls, family-friendly activities, and plenty of open green space. It’s a relaxed, inclusive day out for all ages. Visit their information page for more details 

Martock Pride (Somerset) 21 June – Martock Recreation Ground & Parish Hall 
Martock is hosting its first ever Pride event this year. The day kicks off with a free, family-friendly market event at Martock Recreation Ground, featuring stalls, performances, food vendors, creative activities, and a small Pride parade. 

In the evening, head to Martock Parish Hall for a ticketed cabaret night with live music from LGBTQ+ artists, local queer stories, and your first drink included. Get tickets here. 

 

Culture & Community Events 

Queer Vision Film Festival – Bristol27 June – 11 July 
A showcase of LGBTQ+ cinema, from independent shorts to award winning classics like Brokeback Mountain. Highlights include a screening on Bristol’s giant Megascreen (5 July) — you can browse the full programme here. 

Martin Parr: Pride & Protest – Bristol Museum & Art GalleryOngoing – Free Entry 
Renowned photographer Martin Parr captures the joy, pride and protest of Pride events across the UK. A moving exhibition that’s free to view and well worth the visit. Find out more here. 

Queer Bath – A Citywide Celebration of LGBTQ+ Arts, Culture & Heritage 26 May – 30 June – Across Bath 
Queer Bath brings together museums, galleries, and creative spaces for a month of Pride-inspired programming. Expect screenings, Pride parties, creative workshops and queer-led talks — plus exhibitions and trails uncovering LGBTQ+ stories within the city's various archives and collections. Celebrate Pride Your Way 

From parades and picnics to film nights and art trails, there are plenty of ways to mark Pride Month in the South West without spending much — or anything at all. Whether you’re attending as a family, with friends, or solo, these events are a chance to connect, celebrate, and be proud.
